Did you know that Meesho has about 7 lakh small and micro sellers running their products on the Meesho platform?😮 That’s a whopping 7X growth since April 2021!😎

At the core of this phenomenal growth is our “User First” mantra. These two words make sure we always prioritise our users’ needs, no matter what major pivots and big bets we make.

Our super-popular 0% commission policy is just one of the outcomes of our “User First” focus – one that no doubt has resonated in a powerful way with our suppliers.

The Supplier Learning Hub is yet another empowering outcome of our “User First” focus.

What is the Supplier Learning Hub?

The Supplier Learning Hub is our one-stop platform for all the support our suppliers would need pre-onboarding, during onboarding and even post onboarding with us. The platform has videos on basic topics such as GST registration as well as on advanced topics such as our price recommendation tool and Meesho ads.

Making simple instructions for solving the day-to-day challenges of our suppliers more accessible, is just a basic part of the Supplier Learning Hub. The broader objective is to educate and empower suppliers to be more successful at selling online🥳

The goal of the Supplier Learning Hub is to make using our seller platform as simple as possible so that anyone can start selling with Meesho. That’s why, the topics we add to the platform are deep, nuanced and even advanced, to cater to all types of Meesho suppliers at different stages of their growth journey on the platform.

Why We Built the Supplier Learning Hub

We’re building for Bharat – and we’re doing this by paying special attention to micro-businesses in tier II, III+ cities. In fact, about  70% of our registered sellers come from tier 2 cities and beyond!

However, this also means we have a unique user base. A massive chunk of them – about 50% – are new to e-commerce. Needless to say, friction arises. The features we find to be simple and intuitive may not translate as such to our suppliers. Because, ultimately we are building for an audience we don't always relate to. Folks who do not use or have access to the digital world may find our "intuitive" actions to be complex and confusing, which leads to them dropping out of our platform.

The Supplier Learning Hub mainly focuses on two broad areas:

  1. Solving any problems or any education-related gaps that a supplier might have by breaking down solutions into the simplest possible parts
  2. Making our platform navigation and product experience so smooth that the supplier wouldn’t ever need to look outside for help

To achieve this, we decided to dive deep into the problem and provide an all-round solution. We wanted to go beyond FAQs and show our users how to succeed on our app.

And here’s how we did it

We focused on understanding the existing gaps. We started studying the tickets raised by suppliers. This gave us an insight into what kind of issues come up most often, and how they get solved, so we could prioritise support topics. We turned these topics into “lessons,” covering various aspects at every stage of selling.

This research helped us decide on the kind of educational material we needed to create to ease problem resolution. We classified our educational videos based on the supplier’s progress on the platform. So, that includes videos on how to get started and also on how to scale up.

Because accessibility is everything!

The educational videos are everywhere on the Supplier Learning Hub platform – every page features a video that explains how to resolve issues. These videos are also accessible via our channel on YouTube.

And speaking of accessibility, we launched the Hindi version of the website in May this year. Releasing content in regional languages will be the next milestone.

So, how have our efforts paid off?

Since its launch, the active number of sellers who use the Supplier Learning Hub has seen a 2.5x growth. We conducted an education feedback survey, which showed that more than half of the suppliers found the website to be highly useful.

But the most amazing trend our research showed us is that suppliers who visit Learning Hub actually perform better on all the metrics than the average cohort!🤩💪

We’ve clearly hit the nail on the right spot. But there’s more to do – our target now is to expand on our topics and explore more avenues of success selling for our suppliers. After all, our goal is to help our suppliers flourish in the marketplace. Picture toh abhi baaki hai🤪
