Meesho is proud to partner with WE HUB, India’s first and only state-led incubator, to provide market access to women entrepreneurs in Telangana and help them achieve professional identity.
On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Vidit Aatrey, Co-Founder and CEO of Meesho, and Deepthi Ravula, CEO of WE HUB, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), thereby committing to working together to provide robust market access to women-led businesses in the state of Telangana. Smt. Satyavathi Rathod, Hon’ble Women and Children Welfare Minister, Government of Telangana, and Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary (ITE &C), Government of Telangana, bore witness.
The year-long partnership between Meesho and WE HUB, which was formed by the government of Telangana to foster and promote women entrepreneurship to start-up, scale-up and accelerate with global market access, aims to help women entrepreneurs from Telangana achieve financial independence through market exposure.
The primary goal of this partnership is to help small businesses to grow and thrive in the post-pandemic environment. Through this arrangement, we are trying to enable both — homepreneurs who would like to host their products on the Meesho platform as well as entrepreneurs who would like to resell from the app
“We are hopeful of creating a vibrant, diverse and inclusive ecosystem for women-led micro businesses in the state. This initiative reflects our commitment and concerted efforts to further the cause of women entrepreneurship and their financial independence in the country,” Vidit said regarding the partnership.
Entrepreneurs based in Telangana would register on the Meesho app as suppliers on the Meesho platform, which would enable them to sell their wide range of products on a national e-commerce platform. This partnership is also expected to be leveraged by the Telangana startup ecosystem to expand their markets in India. They are looking at seamless onboarding, free cataloguing, and market access on a national platform which will create avenues to increase business and trade opportunities.
