In a series of actions which have been instituted by Meesho to address the platform abuse issues (read more about it here), we have now filed criminal complaints against fraudulent users who have sent unconsented orders to our customers. Complaints have been filed in both Kolkata and Bangalore, as it was found to have appropriate jurisdiction, based on our internal analysis. We continue to work closely with these local authorities and will cooperate with them in their investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
At Meesho, we make relentless efforts to provide a safe and seamless platform experience to our sellers, entrepreneurs and end customers. We have a no-tolerance policy towards any misuse.
While these unconsented orders accounted for only 0.01% of our orders, we have proactively implemented several measures at the backend to avoid any recurrence in future. Owing to our customer-first approach, we have resolved all complaints received regarding unconsented orders and processed refunds to affected users.
Our customers and suppliers are our biggest strength, and are at the centre of our efforts to provide a great platform experience. Addressing their concerns or solving their problems will continue to be a priority for us.
