Be the change you want to see in this world!
Meesho has taken active steps to redraft its parental policy, making it inclusive and gender neutral. With gender roles changing, our policies have no excuse not to keep pace. Primary caregivers now can take leaves for upto a year from the 26 weeks previously, while secondary caregivers are eligible for 30 days leave. And that’s not all! During your Meesho journey, you can avail these leaves twice.
Don’t want to take these leaves all at once? No problem. Meesho is here to help with a flexible leave plan. Just break up the leaves according to your convenience and take your time to enjoy this wonderful time of your life.
- As change makers, we have already dropped all gendered language from our communication internally and externally, and are encouraging people to share their pronouns instead of assigning it to them.
- All our benefits cover adoptive, surrogacy and biological parents regardless of gender, sexuality and marital status. The focus is now on the caregiver and not the gender!
Director of HR (Employee Experience) Mohammad Hannay, who is one of the principle architects of this policy, says, “At Meesho, we have a diverse, young population and to cater to their needs we realised that we need to break away from conventional patterns and have inclusive policies in place. We are all about enabling quality time for parents, irrespective of their gender, marital status, sexuality or circumstance of parenthood.”
The idea of a “family” as we know it has changed forever, and we are bidding goodbye to conventional and regressive constructs of parenting. At Meesho, we understand the importance of diversity and inclusion, and paving the way for it will be fundamental to our employee experience going forward.
Stay tuned. More inclusive policies coming soon!
